My Hometown Favorites - Coffee and Small Bites

These are some of my favorite places to grab coffee, a bite to eat, or simply catch up with friends.

Society 57 - Aurora, IL

Society 57 is a trendy and laid-back environment to catch up with a friend or work on tasks outside of the house. The atmosphere promotes creative thinking because of the industrialized yet cozy space. Natural light comes in through the large windows making the space bright and cheery.

They offer a variety of drinks and treats ranging from toasts and croissants to nitro and cold brew coffees. The croissants are homemade in Aurora by Katic Breads and have a flaky texture with buttery notes. My personal coffee favorite is the vanilla latte with almond milk. It is creamy and flavorful yet strong enough to power me through homework or studying.

Endiro Coffee - Aurora, IL

Endiro Coffee is a favorite between my friends and I because of the warm and inviting environment. Endiro Coffee partners to end child vulnerability throughout the world by collaborating on multiple projects such as providing relief to the Bukalasi landslides in Uganda, where their coffee is grown. They believe in hospitality, partnership, and community to operate a better business and brew a better cup of coffee.

Endiro has fresh food ranging from breakfast to dinner and carry vegetarian options as well. My personal favorite is the avocado toast and the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. These are both flavorful yet fresh and healthy options to keep me fueled throughout my day. Their coffee is uniquely crafted to suit any taste because of the variety of delicious flavor options. Coffee such as the Black Tie Special Mocha contains blackberry and lavender that provide refreshing fruity hints that are not overpowering. My pick for coffee here is the Sticky Bun Latte with almond milk. Overall, Endiro has great seating options and a patio that overlooks the Fox River for a relaxing moment.

MOKA Coffee - North Aurora, IL

Moka is one of my favorites because of the variety of drinks they offer and the convenience of a drive-thru. Fear not, non-coffee drinkers! They offer tea, smoothie, and shake options that are just as great! Moka also sends a barista right to your car window to aid you in choosing which drink to order.

Moka offers food options such as scones, muffins, and bread that is high quality and tastes amazing. Their coffee options are endless and range from mochas to blended coffees to lattes with a never-ending list of flavors. My personal favorites from Moka include their Toasted Marshmallow Iced Latte with almond milk, matcha latte with almond milk, and the blended Pumpkin Spice Latte. The coffee is always smooth, creamy, and good quality. Some great non-coffee options include the Megaberry Mango Smoothie and any Hydrating Sportea.

Grahams 318 - Geneva, IL

Grahams 318 is a family-owned and operated business that is built inside a charming Craftsman house that feels like a cozy escape from the outside world. They just underwent a large renovation that opened the house up for more opportunities and multiple seating options. My favorite space is the built-in porch with comfy chairs. This is a great place to sit and relax while enjoying pastries, sandwiches, handcrafted beverages, and other tasty snacks.

Grahams 318 has food options including donuts, pies, vegan cookies, galettes, scones, and muffins. Their lunch options range from fresh sandwiches to salads that can be eaten there or on the go. They also have chocolate fondue to enjoy with friends and family that can be taken home or eaten in-house. The coffee options are endless as well as delicious. If you are feeling adventurous, I recommend the Nutellatté, which is a latte for the Nutella lovers out there. The Blended Vanilla Latté is equally delicious and a different take on the average latte. Nearly any drink is possible at Graham’s 318, which makes the trip to this lovely gem worth it.

Tredwell Coffee - Aurora, IL

Tredwell Coffee is quaint local shop nestled right next to the Fox River. The natural light coming through shines onto the brick walls to create a bright yet peaceful atmosphere. This is the perfect place to sit outside on the patio next to the river or curl up in the corner with homework to study. Furthermore, they feature local artists on the walls and often sell their artwork which is a great way to support local talent.

Tredwell has a good variety of food such as Tortas, wraps, and breakfast sandwiches. Their muffins and mini pies are also the perfect treat to brighten anyone’s day. The coffee selection is great and they offer multiple options to support your caffeine addiction. The tea is equally recommended including the matcha latte and London Fog Latte. My personal favorite is the Honey Oat Latte made with oat milk as well as their regular iced latte with oat milk. Food-wise, I recommend any of the muffins because of the freshness as well as the Ham and Cheese Torta.
